Making your Gift

Can anyone participate in #BlackandGoldRush?

Absolutely! Support from the UMBC community is what makes UMBC a remarkable place. Alumni, parents, faculty/staff and friends may support UMBC on Giving Day. When prompted on the giving form, select the role you closely affiliate with. All gifts help us reach the goal of 350 donors to release the Giving Day Challenge gifts.

How can I spread the word?

Your support will make Black and Gold Rush a success. Post about UMBC's Giving Day using the hashtag #BlackandGoldRush on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and LinkedIn, and make sure to tell UMBC alumni, friends and family about this fun and inspiring 24-hour giving day for the UMBC community. Are gifts made during #BlackandGoldRush included in UMBC's Grit&Greatness Campaign?

Yes, all gifts made during UMBC's Giving Day Black and Gold Rush will be counted in Grit&Greatness Campaign.

What if I have already made a gift to UMBC this year?

Thank you for your commitment and support of UMBC. We encourage you to make another gift on Giving Day to support your school, athletics, or another area, and then encourage alumni, parents, and friends to support UMBC during Black and Gold Rush.

Why does UMBC care about my participation?

Your participation, in combination with others, makes a big impact! Alumni giving is a metric used by many organizations to determine rankings and in some cases, foundation giving. The higher the rankings, the more valuable the degree, so everyone benefits when everyone participates.

Is my gift tax-deductible?

Yes, all gifts to UMBC are tax-deductible. You will receive an email confirmation once you have made your gift.
